Unlimited Pasta-bilities in two weeks

The County Line

Prime Life Enrichment, the countywide non-profit organization for seniors, will stage its annual fundraiser April 29 with the Italian theme ‘Unlimited Pasta-bilities’. Proceeds benefit the organization’s extensive program of activities and assistance for the county’s residents age 50 and over.

It’s a program worthy of supporting. The upcoming event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Prime Life’s building, 1078 Third Ave. S.W. in Carmel. At 7:30 p.m. an Italian buffet dinner will be served followed at 8:30 p.m. with music and dancing and concluding with a live auction at 9:00 p.m. Admission is $100 per person, with reservations and other information available by calling 815-7000.

The organization, founded in 1977 as Hamilton County Senior Services, offers county seniors a variety of services including exercise programs, health screening, computer instruction, swimming in an indoor pool, art classes, card games and social events.

In addition, transportation is provided for seniors to the center and other destinations for doctor appointments, grocery shopping and the like.

Counseling is provided on such subjects as health insurance assistance, caregiver support, bereavement support, respite care, dementia and home bound needs.

Prime Life is funded mostly by donations and its own fundraising efforts and gets limited financial help from local units of government. The organization is always interested in enrolling volunteers.

Information on becoming involved is found by calling the office Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Fridays until 5:30 p.m.
