‘Rocks blast WeBo with big second quarter

A huge second quarter broke Westfield’s Tuesday night game with Western Boone wide open.

The Shamrocks outscored the Stars 24-3 in that period, and that led them to a 56-34 victory at The Rock. Westfield led 8-3 after the first quarter, but that second-period surge gave the Shamrocks a 32-6 lead at halftime.

Ian Kristensen scored 17 points for Westfield, with Aaron Bennett and Jonah Welch each chipping in 11 points. Bennett made three 3-pointers. Kristensen pulled seven rebounds, with Caleb Welch grabbing six. Josh Van Dyke handed out four assists.

The ‘Rocks are now 6-11 and host New Castle on Friday.
